The Music Therapy Studies Foundation Program helps you cultivate stable and comfortable guitar and vocal methods essential for music therapy practice. Through hands-on musical instruction, you'll enhance abilities in melodic intervals, fingerstyle patterns, chord sequences, proper vocal techniques, performance body language, and beyond. During your studies at Douglas, a certified music therapist will oversee your development, offering guidance on methods and recommendations for advancement. You'll refine your therapeutic music skills by performing in healthcare facilities and children's environments. Combining musical and psychological coursework prepares you for third-year admission to Capilano University's Bachelor of Music Therapy program, presently British Columbia's sole music therapy degree option.
