Begin your journey toward becoming an environmental consultant, urban planner, meteorologist, park ranger, humanitarian worker, geoscientist, cartographer, real estate developer, statistician, or other related professions with an Associate of Arts Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies. Geography serves as a bridge between natural and social sciences, encompassing diverse disciplines like economics, urban planning, law enforcement, earth sciences, biology, and environmental research. This makes geographers uniquely prepared to address modern issues such as climate change, natural disasters, ecosystem loss, food supply challenges, waste and resource allocation, rapid city growth, and population displacement, among others.
Gain practical skills – even before completing your degree
Numerous geography classes incorporate hands-on learning through classroom activities, open lab sessions, and off-site excursions to both natural landscapes and urban settings. These fieldwork experiences allow you to perform studies, gather information, and examine real-world phenomena using professional tools and techniques.
