Begin your rewarding nursing journey with clinical placements starting in the first semester of Dawson College's Nursing Program. As you progress, you'll gain practical experience through hands-on training in Dawson's advanced simulation labs and weekly clinical rotations. Students develop their expertise using lifelike, responsive mannequins that simulate real patient conditions. By graduation, nursing students will have trained across diverse healthcare environments, from emergency departments to pediatric wards and maternity units. The program concludes with an intensive sixth-semester hospital internship, where students work 32 hours weekly under a mentor's guidance.
The program prepares graduates for immediate employment while providing pathways for further education. Quebec CEGEP Nursing graduates can pursue McGill University's accelerated two-year Bachelor of Nursing (Integrated) program. After completing Dawson's program and passing the OIIQ licensing exam, graduates qualify for various nursing positions throughout hospitals and healthcare facilities.
