This graduate program provides advanced coursework and research in food process technology, microbiology, edible oils, engineering design, muscle food biochemistry, proteins and enzymes, rheology, and beverage science. Students benefit from access to diverse food processing equipment, a pilot plant, and fully-equipped laboratories for specialized training and research. Applicants with backgrounds in food science, engineering, chemistry/biochemistry, microbiology, or biology are encouraged to apply. The program collaborates with the Canadian Institute of Fisheries Technology, a dedicated center for graduate studies and research focused on food science and process engineering, particularly in seafood applications.

Applicants must have

  • Four-year Bachelor‚Äôs degree
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study
  • Degree granted by university of recognized standing

  • MELAB: 85
  • IELTS: 7
  • CAEL: 70 with no band score lower than 60
  • Dalhousie College of Continuing Education (CCE): A-
  • Pearson English Test PTE Academic: overall score of 65 and nothing below 54
