Dalhousie's Periodontics program prepares clinicians for specialized periodontal practice through evidence-based methods. The curriculum combines diverse clinical training with research project involvement, focusing on comprehensive patient assessment, precise diagnosis and treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Trainees will develop expertise in treating various periodontal conditions and mucogingival abnormalities, managing Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMDs), performing dental implant procedures, and administering conscious sedation.
Completion of a minimum of a four-year DDS (or equivalent) from a university-based dental institution with a minimum overall average equivalent of A- (85%).
A certified (by a lawyer or notary public) copy of your diploma must be provided plus an original letter from the dean of the university certifying your graduation and the date of graduation.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and write in English. If the applicant has spent fewer than three years at an English language post-secondary institution the applicant will be required to demonstrate an ability to communicate and write in English (i.e. minimum paper-based TOEFL of 600 or computer-based TOEFL minimum of 100; IELTS score minimum of 7.5).
