Dalhousie University's Biological Engineering Program provides diverse specialization areas including biological waste management, biorobotics, agricultural engineering, aquacultural engineering, food processing engineering, renewable energy, greenhouse energy efficiency, and pollution control. The MASc and PhD programs combine research thesis work with four courses and a graduate seminar. The MEng is a professional engineering degree offering two pathways: either five additional courses beyond the MASc requirements plus a seminar, or three extra courses with both a seminar and a project component.

- Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study
- Degree granted by university of recognized standing

- CAEL: 70 with no band score lower than 60
- Dalhousie College of Continuing Education (CCE): A-
- Pearson English Test PTE Academic: overall score of 65 and nothing below 54
