Civil Engineering graduates pursue careers in various engineering and managerial roles across both private and public sectors. Many work as consultants specializing in project planning, design, construction, or research-focused problem-solving. Their professional scope encompasses the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from initial conception to design, construction, operation, and maintenance. The PhD program offers the deepest research experience, typically requiring applicants to hold an MASc degree demonstrating exceptional academic and research capabilities. This advanced degree centers on original thesis research, presented in written form and defended orally, supplemented by four courses and a seminar. Students must successfully complete written and oral Comprehensive Exams after finishing coursework, with the program mandating a minimum two-year (24-month) full-time commitment.
Thesis-based master's degree or its equivalent.
Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study.
Degree granted by a university of recognized standing.
