The Clinical PhD program is CPA-accredited and operates on the scientist-practitioner model. As clinical psychology is a scientific discipline, our program equally prioritizes research and hands-on clinical training. On average, students complete the program in 6-7 years, which includes a mandatory one-year clinical residency internship.
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all students and faculty. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Indigenous, and racialized individuals, persons with disabilities, and those identifying as sexual or gender minorities. Our department has implemented several initiatives to reduce barriers for underrepresented applicants, including eliminating the GRE requirement, establishing a special bursary for applicants from these groups, and working with university administration to enhance accessibility across our facilities.
