Our Veterinary Technology program at the Agricultural Campus in Truro, Nova Scotia, provides the pathway to your career. CVMA-accredited, this program equips you with the skills to work alongside veterinarians, researchers, and animal care professionals in medical and scientific settings. You'll develop expertise in delivering essential care, such as anesthesia administration.
Though centered on small animal practice, the curriculum covers diverse species - from livestock and horses to exotic creatures and laboratory animals - ensuring versatile, entry-level competencies. This two-year diploma features comprehensive coursework in veterinary medicine, clinical procedures, pathology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. While emphasizing companion animal care to align with regional job markets, the program also includes training in large animal medicine, laboratory animal care, and alternative veterinary therapies.
