Engineering impacts every aspect of modern life. The career possibilities in this field are boundless, offering you the chance to work in diverse industries across the globe.
If you prefer a more intimate learning setting with class sizes typically ranging from 20 to 30 students, our Truro campus is ideal for your first two years. Following this initial phase (and earning your Engineering diploma), you'll transition to the Halifax campus to finish your degree's final two years.
A Dalhousie Engineering degree provides critical problem-solving abilities for continuous growth in a field addressing urgent global challenges. You'll also develop strong mathematical and scientific fundamentals—crucial for any engineering profession.
The foundational years, available at either Halifax or Truro, focus on essential coursework in mathematics, sciences, and engineering principles and design.
Your third year begins specialization in your chosen discipline, with the option to combine studies with co-operative education. Admission to specific disciplines is competitive, based on first-year academic achievements. Second-year electives are determined by your selected specialization.
