At Dalhousie's School of Social Work, we consider social justice to be the cornerstone of social work education and professional practice. Our curriculum holds accreditation from the Canadian Association for Social Work Education, ensuring your qualifications will be recognized throughout Canada and internationally.
After completing a minimum of one year of university-level coursework (30 credit hours; though most applicants complete two years before submission), you become eligible to apply for Dalhousie's Bachelor of Social Work program.
The program features curriculum that adopts critical and anti-oppressive frameworks for examining social policy, professional ethics, theoretical foundations, and practical methodologies.
Our recently updated course offerings equip students with diverse competencies, preparing them for multiple career trajectories. Graduates will possess comprehensive knowledge of subjects including historical and contemporary forms of inequality, social work's dual role in both hindering and promoting justice, and effective strategies for collaborating with service recipients.
