Our philosophy department is renowned as the most robust east of Montreal, fostering a vibrant intellectual community both inside and outside academic settings. Studying philosophy brings clarity to life's complexities. Our program cultivates critical thinking, nurtures open-minded citizenship, and equips students with universally applicable skills valuable for any profession.

While covering classic philosophical domains such as ethics, epistemology, and logic, we also explore contemporary areas including feminist theory, bioethics, and philosophy of race. The curriculum offers exceptional flexibility, enabling students to specialize or develop broad philosophical expertise.

Philosophical inquiry can be applied to any field. We maintain strong interdisciplinary connections with programs like Psychology, Gender Studies, Classics, Global Development Studies, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
