Confederation College's Practical Nurse Program has received approval from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Graduates can immediately apply for Registered Practical Nurse licensure in Ontario.
The Practical Nursing curriculum encompasses diverse subjects such as core theoretical foundations, clinical nursing techniques, medication studies, disease pathology, patient evaluation methods, and hands-on training. Learners will acquire essential caregiving competencies to assist individuals across all age groups (from newborns to seniors) while gaining valuable clinical exposure. Those who have completed an authorized Personal Support Worker Program might qualify for advanced standing in the Practical Nursing Program. Many graduates pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after finishing their Practical Nursing studies.
Upon completing the Registered Practical Nursing Program, graduates take the REX-PN licensing exam. Successful candidates typically secure positions in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and community healthcare settings.
