This two-year graduate certificate program equips students with essential competencies to successfully launch, organize, oversee, and complete construction projects. The curriculum covers financial evaluation of development ventures, construction project management including scheduling, budgeting and monitoring, along with interpersonal abilities like leadership, communication, and negotiation. Participants will master incorporating construction methodologies, building regulations, and efficient construction practices into their work. The learning experience is enriched through practical case analyses, collaborative projects, and site visits. A culminating capstone project allows students to consolidate and implement their acquired knowledge on an actual project. The co-op placement or career management component offers hands-on experience to refine skills for professional settings. Graduates will be well-positioned to pursue industry certifications including CAPM (Certified Associate Project Manager), PMP (Project Management Professional), PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor), and Gold Seal accreditation. Students opting for the co-op track complete one work term in place of the Guided Career Management course. Personal laptops are mandatory for coursework and project development.
