This career-focused program provides specialized training for every aspect of the Powerline Technician role. Participants in this program consistently achieve high co-op placement and job success rates. Hands-on learning occurs through extended workdays in our purpose-built training facility. Learners gain daily experience with our comprehensive collection of professional-grade vehicles and equipment. The curriculum covers essential techniques for installing, maintaining, and repairing both overhead and underground electrical systems through intensive practical training and theoretical instruction. Participants may qualify for early apprenticeship levels and provincial certification as Powerline Technician Apprentices (434A). Additional specialized industry courses are available. The program features two optional co-op terms, with work experience potentially counting toward apprenticeship hours. Safety remains a core focus, with mandatory Occupational Health & Safety courses covering regulations and industry best practices. Provincial electrical utilities contribute through equipment donations, expert instruction, and co-op placements.
