The Sustainable Design Engineering (SDE) bachelor's program spans four years, integrating sustainability principles deeply into engineering education. Students can specialize in either Land Development or Building Design and Construction. The curriculum builds upon core mathematics and science to cultivate engineering design capabilities, analytical thinking, and problem-solving techniques. Sustainability principles permeate every aspect of the program, enhanced through hands-on projects and required co-op experiences. At Conestoga College's Cambridge campus, learners access cutting-edge facilities where collaborative projects, individual assignments, and modern tools prepare them for this growing professional domain.
SDE concentrations emphasize system-wide approaches, blending environmental, economic, and social considerations with core engineering principles from initial planning through final implementation. These comprehensive streams offer students a complete perspective on interdisciplinary engineering challenges. The curriculum meets PEO's Civil/Building engineering standards and will pursue accreditation from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
