The Master of Computer Science program enables students to expand their knowledge foundation and enhance their research skills within specialized computer science domains. This curriculum particularly suits individuals from related fields like mathematics or electrical and computer engineering who've completed fundamental computer science coursework. Professionals in business and industry seeking comprehensive theoretical and practical training in computer science and software engineering will find it especially valuable. The MCompSc combines academic coursework with research, concluding with a thesis defense. Successful graduates may continue their education through the Doctoral program (PhD), the department's most advanced degree, achieving expert-level proficiency in their selected disciplines.
Applicants to the MCompSc program must hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other disciplines such as engineering, sciences, and mathematics with very high standing. Qualified applicants requiring prerequisite courses may be required to take such courses in addition to their regular graduate program.
