This program provides qualifications comparable to an undergraduate Computer Science degree. After earning the diploma, graduates can apply for the 45-credit Master's program in Computer Science to further their education. Students in computer science and software engineering programs benefit from access to numerous specialized labs, including those focused on database systems, distributed computing, networking, 3D graphics, computational mathematics, artificial intelligence, computational linguistics, fungal genomics, and usability testing. Additionally, the department facilitates broad access to the university's central computing resources.
To be considered for admission, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree with above-average standing, and must have completed COMP 5481 Programming and Problem Solving or equivalent courses in C++ prior to entry into the Diploma program.
