Since 1976, the John Molson School of Business has collaborated with École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal, McGill University, and Université du Québec à Montréal to deliver a joint PhD in Business Administration. This intensive five-year program grants participants access to over 300 faculty members qualified to mentor doctoral candidates. Those enrolled benefit from shared library resources, computing facilities, and seminars featuring globally renowned scholars across all partner institutions.

The doctoral program provides five concentration areas: Accountancy, Finance, Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain & Business Technology Management. Candidates collaborate with distinguished faculty from leading research institutions, building strong international reputations through groundbreaking studies published in top-tier journals and participation in academic societies. Supported by seven dynamic research centers, John Molson's scholars and graduate students actively develop creative approaches to modern business challenges.

Qualification Requirements

Master's degree in business administration or equivalent with high academic standing, from a recognized university.
Applicants with a Master's degree in a field related to the proposed area of research may be admitted subject to satisfactory completion of qualifying requirements, if necessary, by taking up to five prerequisite courses in addition to the required coursework in the graduate program. The specific courses to be taken are determined by the Program Director depending on the student's background and area of specialization.
Applicants must submit proof of satisfactory performance on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)within the previous five years.

IELTS - Overall score of 7.0 with no part below 6.5
TOEFL iBT - 95 or higher and no part under 20 in each of the four components
Duolingo Score (DET) - Minimum score of 120
