Train your eye to perceive designed objects and messages through the lens of creativity and the processes behind their making. Enhance your understanding of design's significance and explore its impacts across social, cultural, political, economic, and ecological spheres. By cultivating critical thinking about each design decision, you'll gain the capacity to undertake projects that drive meaningful progress, particularly in sustainable practices.

As a creative professional, whether shaping physical spaces or visual narratives, you'll access resources to bring your ideas to life. Construct three-dimensional prototypes in metal or wood workshops, or utilize specialized tools for bookbinding and video production.

Montreal boasts the world's second-highest concentration of creative professionals after London. The city thrives on locally made goods and actively discusses sustainability, creating an inspiring atmosphere for design exploration. Internships allow students to gain experience across design fields and cultural organizations, with opportunities ranging from major corporations to boutique studios. Refer to the Undergraduate Calendar for program-specific guidelines and admission criteria.
