The MEng in Engineering Practice program, delivered by the Faculty of Engineering and Design, aims to enhance the qualifications of BEng graduates from accredited engineering schools worldwide, boosting their career prospects and facilitating their entry into Canada's professional landscape.
As a pioneering initiative in Canada, Engineering Practice stands out by prioritizing job-ready competencies within an engineering context. It combines instruction in project management, business fundamentals, cost analysis, technical communication, and other practical subjects with specialized applied coursework tailored to students' engineering specialties.
This program concentrates on strengthening students' technical capabilities, particularly benefiting internationally-educated engineers who earned their bachelor's degrees outside Canada's accreditation framework. Distinct from conventional engineering graduate programs—whether research-intensive or professional master's degrees—this curriculum specifically targets the advancement of engineering knowledge while incorporating career transition support through professional growth modules, project leadership training, and communication skill development.
