Carleton University's Sociology graduate programs have held national prominence since the master's program launched in the 1960s. Our graduate studies emphasize the structure and evolution of modern societies through comparative analysis, with special attention to Canadian society. A defining aspect of our programs is their student-focused approach. We firmly believe students should shape their graduate experience to best meet their needs. Additionally, we provide a specialization in Quantitative Methodology.
The Collaborative MA in Digital Humanities enables students to investigate how digital innovations are transforming our engagement with arts, media, and culture, reshaping collective memory, and fostering global connections and cross-cultural exchanges. Participants will develop critical thinking skills by conducting original research using cutting-edge theories, methodologies, and technologies while collaborating with peers, faculty across Carleton, and community organizations. Our practicum offers practical experience with computational tools for cultural text analysis and introduces novel approaches for studying social movements and communities emerging through digital networks.
