Human civilization is fundamentally built upon language. Our extensive MA curriculum, offered through the School of Linguistics and Language Studies (SLaLS), highlights language's pivotal function across educational, professional, community, and various social settings. Students have the flexibility to combine elements from Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies to align with their academic and research objectives. This distinctive North American program stands out by integrating these two disciplines that are usually separated into different departments at other institutions. Additionally, we provide specialized courses, featuring practical training, that qualify graduates for Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) certification in Ontario.
