Doctoral candidates in the Ethics and Public Affairs (EPAF) program will develop a thorough grasp of approaches to addressing diverse public challenges across various sectors.

Our program stands out by integrating ethical examination with social scientific methods. EPAF scholars receive instruction and guidance from both philosophy experts studying societal concerns and social science/policy professionals focused on the value systems behind these matters. The foundational principle is public justification - the concept that authority must be explainable to those it governs. Graduates will be equipped to pursue academic positions or policy-oriented roles in government, nonprofit organizations, or advisory capacities.
