The Communication Studies Diploma is a 60-credit, two-year program designed to establish fundamental knowledge for students entering strategic communication fields.
Throughout this program, you'll acquire a comprehensive skill set, including intensive instruction in writing, editing, media literacy, and analytical techniques.
You'll enhance your research methodology skills while exploring the relationships between traditional and digital media, media's societal role, and Canada's cultural sectors.
Program objectives
Recognize, assess, and implement key communication theory frameworks.
Evaluate and articulate the evolution of communication channels, practices, and sectors.
Apply critical media analysis skills as both creators and audiences of communication content.
Utilize foundational research techniques for communication and media projects.

High school graduation
English Studies 12 (C+) or English 12 (C+) or English First Peoples 12 (C+)
For students with previous post-secondary experience, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.33) or equivalent

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 83 (internet-based score), 560 (paper-based score).
ELA (English Language Assessment Test): 145
Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5 overall and no one scores less than 6
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment Test): 70
PTE (Pearson Test of English - Academic): 56
DET (Duolingo English Test) - 125 or higher with no sub-score less than 115.
