The Advanced Arts and Entertainment Management Certificate equips students with essential industry knowledge, practical skills, and professional connections for career success. This intensive one-year program, requiring either two years of post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience, combines academic coursework with hands-on practicum opportunities in the arts sector. Participants develop comprehensive understanding of arts management across commercial and non-profit environments, covering marketing, fundraising, financial planning, tour coordination, production oversight, and artist representation.
Program competencies
Articulate fundamental principles of event planning, financing, production, budgeting, and promotion within the arts sector.
Execute administrative responsibilities for event coordination and production.
Implement classroom-acquired management theories and techniques through practical applications, including volunteer work and field placements.
Collaborate effectively in teams to stage performing arts productions.
Develop professional written communication skills for clear, precise documentation.
Apply best practices in verbal communication, including meeting facilitation and group leadership.
Create, document, and oversee financial plans for arts initiatives.
Evaluate event operations to identify successful strategies and areas for improvement.
Analyze all stages of artistic project development, from conception through production to public presentation.
30 credits of post-secondary education including three credit hours of English or Communications courses; or
a minimum of 365 hours of verified experience in the arts and entertainment industry and a minimum score of 75% on entrance exam
