Pursuing a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Public Health (BHSc) at CBU provides a distinctive chance to influence community well-being. The program equips you with practical expertise to create meaningful change through hands-on learning in state-of-the-art facilities under the guidance of seasoned professors.
CBU's public health curriculum emphasizes environmental health, concentrating on maintaining wellness in living, working, and recreational spaces. The diverse student body, representing over 50 nations, collaborates in Cape Breton's island environment, making health sciences an exciting field for exploration.
Our curriculum leverages local natural assets, addressing critical areas like food safety, water/air purity, infectious disease management, and workplace safety. The program features three distinct pathways:
Stream One serves high school graduates or those without prior post-secondary education through a comprehensive four-year plan. Stream Two offers a condensed two-year track for students holding science degrees or equivalent qualifications. Stream Three caters exclusively to military personnel pursuing certification through the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors while completing their degree.
