Spending two years at Camosun can equip you for a career in criminal justice or serve as the initial phase toward earning a bachelor's degree. The Criminal Justice Diploma program offers a social justice lens to examine the systems and procedures that underpin ethical, responsible, and professional work in this field. This hands-on program blends classroom instruction, community-based learning, and theoretical exploration to address subjects like collaboration among police, courts, corrections, and social services; the effects of colonization and intergenerational trauma on Indigenous communities; and a critical, justice-oriented perspective on contemporary societal issues.
Based at our Lansdowne campus, this two-year Criminal Justice program includes an optional internship. The first year establishes a strong foundational curriculum, while the second year allows you to specialize through elective courses aligned with your career and academic aspirations. Upon completion, you can immediately enter the criminal justice workforce or transfer credits to continue into the third year of a bachelor's degree program.
