Over 28 weeks, you'll apply craftsmanship through practical training to develop essential skills for the construction and renovation industry. The program teaches fundamental project planning, cost estimation, management, and execution of renovation work, with specialized instruction in welding and framing techniques. Hands-on learning occurs in the carpentry workshop, where you'll practice both interior and exterior applications.
The curriculum addresses numerous carpentry and renovation topics, including building regulations and recognizing unsafe procedures. Strict compliance with workplace safety protocols, proper work methods, and individual protective measures are consistently reinforced throughout the program.
For graduates of the new curriculum (OSS): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including:
Any grade 12 English (C) or (U)
Any grade 11 mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
English language requirements:
