The Department of Communication, Popular Culture, and Film provides four distinct academic programs: Business Communication, Media and Communication Studies, Film Studies, and Popular Culture. Students can pursue a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) Honours degree, a four-year BA with Major, or a three-year BA Pass degree across all programs. The Department also collaborates with community colleges to enable students to obtain an honours degree in Communication Studies alongside a college diploma or certificate.
The Media and Communication Studies program examines how media and communication shape meaning, identity, and societal transformation. It explores media content, audiences, and institutions within their political, economic, and social frameworks, both in Canada and globally.
