The study of classics and classical archaeology delves into ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, shedding light on the roots of numerous modern artistic, literary, and societal traditions.
Within our Classics and Archaeology Department, students investigate ancient languages, historical events, artistic expressions, and archaeological findings through multifaceted approaches that foster deep connections with antiquity.
We provide diverse hands-on learning experiences, from recreating historical culinary traditions to museum curation and archaeological fieldwork both locally at Brock University and internationally. During summer months, students can participate in Mediterranean excavation projects and cultural study tours for direct engagement with ancient artifacts and heritage.
Our Greek and Roman Studies program integrates the examination of historical narratives, artistic achievements, religious practices, and translated literary works from these foundational civilizations.
