The Child and Youth Studies Department (CHYS) provides four-year BA Honours or Major programs, a three-year BA degree, and a combined BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary-Junior) program. These interdisciplinary programs blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications, examining youth within cultural, economic, legal, familial, educational, peer, and community contexts. Drawing from psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, education, and cultural studies, the curriculum integrates multiple approaches to foster a holistic understanding of childhood and adolescence.
