Students can pursue a psychology major through either the Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs at Saint Mary's University. While the psychology course requirements are identical for both degrees, the BA and BSc programs feature distinct mandatory and elective courses as specified in the university catalog.
Our program offers intimate class settings and dedicated faculty who prioritize student success, fostering an environment that values practical experience. Boasting one of the most popular programs on campus and an engaged student association, newcomers quickly integrate into the Saint Mary's community. The department stands out as the foremost institution for Industrial/Organizational Psychology in Eastern Canada and houses some of the region's only legal psychology experts.
Approximately 100 undergraduates regularly participate in faculty-led research projects, with an additional 50 serving as teaching assistants. Other enrichment opportunities include our cooperative education program, regional academic conferences, and international study options.
Psychology students recently organized the 26th Annual Student Conference, showcasing their research findings. Several participants also completed academic exchanges in destinations including China, Scandinavian countries, and even the Arctic region.
