This extensive foundation creates numerous opportunities for engaging with young individuals across various professional roles.

Our distinctive curriculum integrates insights from psychology, education, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, and criminology - along with other fields - to develop a profound understanding of young people and their worldviews.
The Child and Youth Studies Department (CHYS) provides four-year Honours BA and Major BA programs, a three-year BA degree, and a combined BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary-Junior) program. These interdisciplinary programs blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications, examining children and youth within cultural, economic, legal, familial, educational, social, and community contexts. Drawing from psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminology, education, and cultural studies, our academic approach synthesizes diverse methodologies to cultivate a holistic understanding of childhood and adolescence.
