Sociology examines how factors like class, gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, and nationality shape an individual's experiences and actions. It investigates societal functions, the workings of social institutions, and how different aspects of society impact human life. Their Sociology program emphasizes social justice, applying academic insights to combat inequality and drive societal transformation. The curriculum covers varied topics such as racial dynamics, LGBTQ+ studies, sports sociology, health sociology, and human-animal relationships.
International Applicants - In addition to a high school transcript, international applicants whose primary language is not English must also arrange to have an official copy of their English proficiency scores sent directly to the Admissions Office. 
Adult Learners - Submit a 1–2-page typed letter describing your educational background, work experience, and academic plans. Mature candidates must also submit academic transcripts - e.g. high school, GED if applicable.

International Applicants Currently Studying in Canada - The English language proficiency score requirement may be waived for students who graduate from a high school in New Brunswick with a final grade of 70% or higher on English 122 or 121. The University reserves the right to evaluate students’ English proficiency upon arrival - academic-credit English Language Support courses may be required
