The Centre for Canadian Studies provides a co-major option (allowing you to combine Canadian Studies with another discipline like History, English, French, Popular Culture, Geography, or Political Science). Alternatively, students can pursue Canadian Studies as a minor to complement virtually any degree program at Brock.
Located near the Canada-U.S. border in a historically rich area encompassing Indigenous heritage, settler communities, and pivotal events like the War of 1812 that shaped Canadian identity, Brock's Centre for Canadian Studies offers an exceptional environment to examine the dynamic and complex nature of Canadian self-perception and global positioning.
As a Canadian Studies student, you'll gain not only comprehensive knowledge about Canada but also refine your communication and research abilities, master interdisciplinary problem-solving techniques, and examine domestic and global viewpoints on issues impacting Canada and beyond. The program also offers chances to attend regional and international conferences, plus potential study abroad opportunities through global partnerships.
