The Centre for Canadian Studies provides a co-major option (allowing you to combine Canadian Studies with another discipline like History, English, French, Popular Culture, Geography, or Political Science). Alternatively, students can pursue Canadian Studies as a minor to complement their primary degree program at Brock.
Located near the Canada-U.S. border in a historically rich area that encompasses Indigenous heritage, settler history, and pivotal events like the War of 1812 that shaped Canadian identity, Brock's Centre for Canadian Studies offers the perfect environment to examine the dynamic and complex nature of Canadian society and its global relationships.
As a Canadian Studies student, you'll gain not only comprehensive knowledge about Canada but also refine your communication and research abilities, master interdisciplinary problem-solving techniques, and examine domestic and global viewpoints on contemporary issues. The program additionally offers chances to engage in regional conferences, cross-border events, and potential study abroad opportunities with international partner institutions.
