The Power and Process Engineering program equips you with hands-on expertise and technical understanding to prepare for provincial certification exams. Upon finishing the first year successfully, students become eligible to take government tests for the 4th Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
Power Engineers oversee, maintain, and run industrial power and processing facilities across sectors like pulp and paper production, chemical processing, food manufacturing, power generation, oil refining, and institutional mechanical systems. Due to explosion risks, these professionals require rigorous training and certification. Provincial laws mandate that plant operators must obtain certification before handling responsibilities involving pressurized equipment operation.
