The Computer Information Systems Administration (CISA) program is a two-year curriculum specializing in managing and setting up IT infrastructure, including both wired and wireless local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs).
This full-time CISA program equips graduates with extensive skills for administering computer networks and systems. With a practical, technical training approach, students directly apply lab and classroom experiences to real-world business environments.
Rather than focusing on computer engineering or software development, the program centers on IT infrastructure solutions. Combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, students acquire skills to install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot systems and hardware. State-of-the-art labs provide extensive practical training opportunities.
First-year coursework covers computer hardware fundamentals, operating systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity basics. Students learn Microsoft Active Directory, Cisco networking, Linux administration, along with database and programming essentials. While aligning with industry certifications, the program doesn't require certification exams. A dedicated Business Skills for IT course develops essential communication and management competencies.
Second-year studies focus on implementing enterprise network infrastructure solutions. Using leading technologies from Cisco, Microsoft, Fortinet, and others, students build secure, multiservice business networks. Hands-on work includes routing, switching, firewall configuration, and server/client technologies to create resilient campus networks with remote access capabilities. Advanced topics cover network security, VoIP, wireless solutions, and collaborative applications. Students gain expertise in virtualization and cloud integration while exploring enterprise system complexities. The program encourages pursuing advanced certifications from major technology providers.
