The Machinist Foundation program equips students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training to begin a career as a machinist. Upon completion, graduates can apply credits toward their first level of machinist apprenticeship.
Through fundamental theory and practical application, students develop the essential skills required to manufacture industrial parts and components based on engineering specifications.
Certification – After finishing the Machinist Foundation program, students may proceed with a machinist apprenticeship. The program grants 500 hours of work-based training credit and the ITA Machinist Apprenticeship Level 1 technical training. Upon fulfilling all apprenticeship requirements, graduates earn the B.C. Certificate of Apprenticeship, the B.C. Certificate of Qualification, and the Interprovincial Standard Endorsement (Red Seal).
