The Bachelor of Accounting program includes eight Advanced Technical Specialty courses along with 36 General Education credits. Students enrolled full-time may also choose to participate in a Workplace Education segment.
For graduates of BCIT's Accounting, Finance, or Financial Planning diploma programs, the Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) offers a pathway to professional credentials, including eligibility for CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) certification, MPAcc (Master of Professional Accounting), or MBA programs.
This program equips students with essential technical abilities, interpersonal skills, effective communication techniques, and critical problem-solving capabilities that today's employers value.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants are required to complete a pre-entry assessment form to have their education assessed by the program area. English language proficiency: Category 2 – English Studies 12 (67%) or equivalent Post secondary education: A BCIT Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, or an equivalent diploma from another institution with a minimum GPA of 70% and a minimum average of 65% in the following second year subject sequences: FMGT 3110 and 4110 (Intermediate Financial Accounting 1 & 2) FMGT 3210 and 4210 (Cost & Managerial Accounting 1 & 2) FMGT 3310 and 4310 (Auditing 1 & 2) FMGT 3410 and 4410 (Taxation 1 & 2) FMGT 3510 and 4510 (Corporate Finance 1 & 2) FMGT 4710 or 4720 (Advanced Computer Applications 2) BCIT will assess diplomas from other institutions for equivalency on an individual basis. Bridging courses may be required. Applicants with an average between 62% and 65% in no more than two second year subject sequences will be considered to have met this entrance requirement. Graduates of the BCIT Finance or Financial Planning diploma programs are not required to complete FMGT 3310 and 4310 as prerequisites for the Bachelor of Accounting.
