The specialization in computer game technology and creative arts helps students passionate about the artistic elements of gaming—including narrative creation, gameplay structure, and visual/audio design—to enhance their analytical and design abilities in these fields. The curriculum covers subjects like the gaming industry, software development, game mechanics, and AI. Beyond the core computer games technology coursework, this creative arts track incorporates studies in music, literature, and/or visual arts to build game design expertise alongside programming capabilities. A minimum of 18 credits in English, fine arts, or music courses is required.

Qualification Requirements

Successful completion of the IB Diploma with a minimum of 26 points and completion of all required prerequisite courses. Transfer credits may be awarded and will be determined upon receipt of official, sealed transcripts to be mailed directly from the issuing institution to Algoma University. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a notarized English translation. When proof of English language proficiency is required, test results must be issued directly from the Examining Board. Please refer to the language proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and required scores at the bottom of this page. Photocopied and notarized copies of transcripts and documents may be accepted for conditional offers of admission only. Transcripts must be issued directly by the institution to be considered official.
