The Digital Media and IT (DMIT) program takes a broad, interdisciplinary approach. Covering diverse career paths from business analysis to visual design, this forward-thinking program equips you to address industry needs while cultivating skills that match your personal strengths and interests.
Within the Game Programming specialization, you'll master bringing video games to life. You'll develop and integrate game code and scripts that power environments, characters, vehicles, cameras, and special effects, enabling dynamic interactions between these elements. In the DMIT - Game Design curriculum, you'll gain hands-on experience by designing, constructing, and assembling a functional game level prototype. You'll explore both the artistic and technical dimensions of producing and implementing visual game components like environments, characters, vehicles, cameras, and special effects. The curriculum also emphasizes narrative development and audio design.
You'll become proficient with industry-standard tools including 3D Studio Max, Unity 3D, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Upon completion, you'll be industry-ready with practical experience and a professional portfolio showcasing your abilities. Thanks to DMIT's strong industry ties, students can access various co-op placements. Numerous companies provide paid co-op roles that deliver direct experience in specialized study areas. Many organizations also view co-op programs as valuable talent pipelines.
