The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program involves guided original research, designed for individuals who possess some research background but aren't yet qualified for direct PhD admission. Compared to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), an MPhil requires less extensive research. In certain situations, students can transition from an MPhil to a PhD program. The MPhil typically takes at least one year of full-time study to complete, with a maximum duration of two years full-time (or equivalent part-time study).
