The Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teaching Pathway (Secondary) provides a thorough grounding in health sciences, physical activity principles, and interpersonal skills. This degree addresses key aspects of personal growth, covering topics like adolescent health concerns, sexual education, substance use, psychological factors, and risky behaviors, alongside core health science subjects such as human anatomy, healthcare systems, public health initiatives, and research methods. Students in this program benefit from a direct progression route to a Master of Teaching qualification, leading to professional teaching roles. The curriculum allows for specialization beyond HPE through elective courses in fields like science and math, enabling students to qualify in an additional teaching subject. An added advantage includes early exposure to Education Studies via a compulsory minor, with coursework designed to meet the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards requirements for teaching accreditation.
