The Music major offers students outside the Music program a thorough overview of contemporary practices in music, performance, and sound production for composition, sound design, and live performance. Foundational courses explore core principles of music performance, acoustics, stereo recording and mixing, MIDI systems and sequencing, sound synthesis, and environmental sound-based composition. These technical topics are framed within an exploration of electroacoustic music and sonic arts. Additionally, students will study studio methods, emerging performance technologies, and composition techniques for screen media.

Successful completion of Global Assessment Certificate with a GPA of 2.3.
Successful completion of Year 12 with an ATAR of 60, successful completion of a recognised foundation studies program, 1 year of university studies or completion of a qualification equivalent to an Australian AQF Certificate IV.
2 years full-time study at a recognised postsecondary institution where the language of instruction is English.
