From the resurgence of humanist ideals during the Renaissance onward, academic institutions have positioned historical and political studies as fundamental to understanding human nature.
The History and Political Thought program centers on four core courses that provide students with an overview of modern human history (post-1500). While European history features prominently, the curriculum encourages comparative analysis with the historical developments of Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
This academic journey concludes with a capstone course in the final term, examining various historical theories and methodologies. Students can choose from numerous electives spanning European, American, Australian, and Asian historical and political perspectives, including thematic courses that explore diverse eras and regions.
