A Human Nutrition specialization within Medical Science applies biological, chemical, and physiological principles to explore how food components and nutrients interact with human metabolism and bodily functions. This program guides learners through the complete nutrient cycle - from consumption and breakdown to absorption, storage, and metabolic use of macronutrients, micronutrients, and essential elements. The curriculum covers nutritional management strategies for weight control, physical activity, wellness, and illness prevention while building comprehensive laboratory techniques and research competencies. Participants will hone their evaluative abilities to design, interpret, and apply nutritional assessment protocols and public health initiatives.
Program continuation requires maintaining a minimum GPA of 5. Students falling below this standard will be reassigned to the general Medical Science degree track.
