Earn a master's degree that makes an impact on industry or community progress – in just one year. Victoria University's Master of Research Practice gives credit for prior honours qualifications, enabling faster graduation.
Building on your honours (or equivalent) degree, this master's program requires just two core units in research ethics and project design, letting you start your thesis earlier and complete your studies more quickly. It's one of several specialized master's programs designed for graduates with diverse academic backgrounds.
VU's innovative Master of Research Practice offers students the chance to conduct and finalize a supervised research project at master's level (AQF 9). The program achieves this through introductory coursework units that explore a) research process fundamentals and expectations, and b) relevant disciplinary specializations when applicable. Structured milestones provide ongoing support to ensure high-quality research submissions within designated timelines.
Upon successfully completing this program, graduates will be able to:
Show advanced comprehension of core principles and contemporary discussions surrounding research ethics and integrity;
Exhibit knowledge of applicable national guidelines and institutional policies affecting research conduct across various settings;
Recognize crucial ethical considerations relevant to their specific research field;
Evaluate potential solutions to research integrity challenges that may emerge in their area of study; and
Articulate and justify ethical positions regarding their own research practice and project design.
Enhance capabilities in sophisticated academic writing and presentation
