This program is designed for individuals who have completed a four-year psychology degree from an accredited institution. Its core objective is to offer supervised training and organized education during the fifth and sixth years, fulfilling the criteria for general psychologist registration while preparing students for specialized registrar programs in clinical psychology, as recognized by the Psychology Board of Australia. The Master of Psychology (Clinical) delivers an in-depth curriculum covering professional psychology practices such as assessment, treatment, ethical considerations, and communication. Additionally, it focuses on developing advanced clinical psychology skills through targeted training and supervised practice in assessment and therapeutic techniques. Students also engage in supervised research throughout the two-year duration of the program.
Students must have successfully completed a four year, or three year plus a fourth year APAC-accredited sequence in psychology, within the last 10 years, with an Honours degree of at least Class II Division 1 (or equivalent 4th year qualification) to be a successful candidate for the Clinical Psychology Program. International applicants must have their qualifications assessed and judged to be equivalent to an Australian 4-year sequence of Psychology by the Australian Psychological Society.
